I'm Janet, a golfer, traveler, and storyteller who believes some of the best memories happen somewhere between the first tee and the journey home.

I didn't grow up playing golf. In fact, I came to the game later in life and now joke that my only regret is that I didn't discover it sooner. What started as learning a new sport eventually became something much bigger. Golf began shaping where we traveled, the places we wanted to experience, and the stories I found myself wanting to tell.

Today, my husband Scott and I plan many of our travels around golf, from historic links courses in Scotland and Ireland to championship courses closer to home. But for me, the trip has never been only about golf. I'm just as interested in the old hotel at the end of the road, the village around the corner, the people we meet along the way, and the stories behind the places we visit.

That is what Fairways & Faraway is about.

You'll find stories from the golf courses I've been fortunate enough to play, destinations I've loved, places still on my list, and the lessons I've learned while planning trips around this game. You'll also find plenty that happens beyond the fairways, because sometimes the part of a trip you remember most has nothing to do with your scorecard.

I'm not a scratch golfer, a golf instructor, or someone pretending every round is perfect. I'm simply someone who fell in love with the game, loves seeing the world, and enjoys sharing the experiences that come with both.

Fairways & Faraway is my place to tell those stories.
